Hi RoRo
My ISP although extremely fast when it comes to downloads,
isn't that quick when it comes to uploads.

As already mentioned, these files come directly from my computer,
what you get from me is the upload side (slow side) of my bandwidth.
Since MySharedFiles currently contains in excess of 12.5 Gig in data, (and growing daily)
hosting it from my computer is the only cost effective way.

If you would like to contact Comcast Cable, and ask them to increase
my bandwidth for free, I would greatly appreciated it even though I know
that's not likely to happen.  ;D

I thought it might have something to do with my machine.  I also have fast download speed and very slow upload speeds.  You would think for the price they would make things equal.
I still appreciate getting all those nice files.
I did notice that I could not resume using Freshdownload;  therefore, if I was disconnected I had to start all over again.  Is this true also with Gigaget?

Resume can only happen when the server/PC you are downloading from permits it and is set-up to do so. Somehow I doubt Bob's PC is set-up or capable of doing that. This may be further complicated because it is going through an intermediary no-ip.org.

Resume work without any problems.
GigaGet also works well with the no-ip.org address.
David,
no-ip.org has no bearing at all. It's used only to bypass the
occasional changes in the routing#. It gives me the ability to make
changes in one place and yet leave the address every one uses the same.

I downloaded and installed Gigaget, and after figuring out how to use it in place of FreshDownload, find that it is a least twice as fast for your files.  That makes a big difference.

Hi RoRo
This proves that not all free programs are of equal value.
In my personal experience, Gigaget has outperformed every other download manager I've tried.
(By the way, I've tried quite a few including many of the paid versions)

I've used one of the pictures taken during our trip to Alaska in August of 2005
and turned it into a screen saver.

Even though it's only 574KB in size, it does meet all the requirements for a full screen saver.
