I noticed the message about slow download so I clicked out of curiosity and with Road Runner High speed the download time was 15 hours.

:D Hi bob3160,

How big is Windows 7  in your shared files?

Windows 7
The latest Beta build ( Build7000.0.081212-1400 ) is very stable.
You can find all 3 builds ( 6801, 6956 and 7000 ) at MySharedFiles in the Windows7Beta folder
If you check out the link given, you'll see the sizes of the 3 versions listed.  :)

For me the best speed from Bob's site would produce a download of about 50Kb per second.

That is about 8x what could be achieved on a dialup site and was just about the upload limit I had on my cable service a year or so ago before I paid for the highest domestic tier.

Nevertheless, rather like the experience of Joe S this is pointing to an uninterrupted download time of 13-14 hours, but is nowhere near a suggested 80+ hour concern.  I must also say that I am relatively close (only geographically) to Bob.

That's not my fault.....  ;D ;D ;D

As Alan mentioned, that's as fast as it gets (unless someone want's to pay for the increase ???) and since it's FREE,
at least to those who use it, there shouldn't be any complaints.  :)

Tech,
Use a download manager to resume downloads and it takes a lot less than what you're quoting.
That site does not allow 1) resuming and 2) dividing it in multiply threads.
The download manager is completely useless.

Bob, do you have experience with Software Informer?
Yes, not a bad little program to let you know which programs aren't up to date.
(It identified 263 programs on my system)

I need to free a system before I can test Windows 7.
But I sure will start soon with it.
