Captive portal ?
« on: April 08, 2015, 02:22:12 PM »
I have IS and Grimefighter installed on my Acer laptop running Win7.
When I run GF or scan for performance issues, the sedation process works fine but then I get a message 'Looks like a captive portal'.
I've checked DNS settings (BT HomeHub5 runs Dynamic DNS), switched off BT parental controls, made Internet Explorer the default browser (rather than Chrome), connected to my router via ethernet cable and switched off the wi-fi network adapter, and I still get the same annoying message.
What else can I try to make this work ?

A captive portal allows you to restrict access to your network until wireless users have been verified.
Have you checked the router settings ?
If so, did you rebooted the router ?
- Shutdown all systems
- Shutdown the router
- Wait e.g. 5 minutes
- Start the router
- Wait till it is fully booted
- Start one system
- Check if the problem is solved

Same here.  Very annoyed as really thought this would be useful for my home computer.
I am also with BT for internet. I wonder if this is always a problem. If this programme is not going to work then i will expect my refund.
