Jonte:
Does anybody know anything about this file?

I just found it on my computer (avast! couldn't find it) via a online scan.
Is there any danger in deleting this file?

Help?

MrBabis:
If you are not sure, use this page

http://virusscan.jotti.org/

If some of avast showing that file is infcted, so you can send it to avast.

DavidR:
What did find it?

If you are not getting a virus warning and you believe it is a new or undetected virus, then if you can zip and password protect ('virus', will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces).

Give a brief outline of the problem, the fact that you believe it to be a new or undetected virus and include the password in the body of the email. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner

Hi Jonte,

If this installer is infected, it is infected with a backdoor, a win32.backdoor.IrcBot, also called backdoor doly.
