I got rid of norton and now I have avast!!
I like it so much better. So I am really new to avast and I just wanted to know if avast has spyware blockers and spyware removers. If it does not can you tell me where I can get a really good one. Thanks for your help.

Spyware is just one from of malware. It is incorrect nowadays to call something a anti-virus, spyware remover, adware remover etc. They all detect more than just one form of malware.
Please read the malware removal section on this site:

I believe it will give you the info (and other things) you need/want

Hi Mystery,
You can find some information on spyware and spyware removal here:
http://www.geocities.com/dontsurfinthenude/spyware.htm
http://www.geocities.com/dontsurfinthenude/spyremoval.htm
http://www.geocities.com/dontsurfinthenude/spyprotection.htm
As a golden rule, AV's don't remove a lot of commercial adware (the lawyers would be on their backs!) They do remove some Trojans used to download and install spyware, and report back to the mothership, as well as some diallers and keyloggers.
When removing 'commercial' spyware, first try to remove it with add/remove: some will even go when you ask it to leave!
When removing more malicious spyware, nothing removes 100%, so it's best to use 2 or 3 of the good ones. (But avoid the spyware removers that are in fact spyware!)
Links to the good ones at Eddy's site, plus my pages above.
Happy hunting!
