2217 and Firefox
« on: April 21, 2015, 03:57:26 PM »
Is anyone else noticing that this beta is creating an adverse affect on Firefox.
Firefox is now freezing and not really crashing but is slower and mostly freezing...frequently.
Dell Inspiron, Win10x64--HP Envy Win10x64--Both systems Avast Free v17.9.2322, Comodo Firewall v8.2 w/D+, MalwareBytes v3.0, OpenDNS, Super Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, MCShield, Unchecky, Vivaldi Browser and, various browser security tools.

Since you don't mention what version of firefox, part of the equation is missing.

I don't find any issue with firefox 37.0.1, I have yet to update to the latest Firefox 37.0.2 version.

I had trouble with v37.0.1 and updating to 37.0.2.
Updating to 37.0.2 was super slow. Right now I'm keeping a
close eye on it. I was/am also having other issues on my Win8.1,
if this keeps up it might lead to a clean install of avast or, worse case scenario,
use a image backup of my system.

Whew! Four reboots later and all is well. Two of the reboots took a while. The third was quicker. The fourth was fantastic.
If all else fails...reboot...reboot...reboot...reboot.

I was beginning to think about doing a restore using a backup image.

@ DavidR    Thanks for "pushing" taking regular/weekly system images.
There are there if you need them. Thankfully I didn't...this time.

Don't reboot a fifth time.
Before you know it, the system has rebooted even before you told it to do so. ;D
