I have been considering the purchase of Grimefighter, but after seeing the numerous problems people have had (I have some of the same hardware but hey, it is only an INTEL CPU, MB, and Chipset, so it isn't like it has a significant market share) I wanted to download the software that tells me if it is even compatible with my system! Something that even Avast's own web pages told me to do!

But I cant find the compatibility, or hardware detection, or whatever they call it now. So I called the Tech Support. Not only did I get told that there was no trial version (I never asked for one, I am just looking to make sure it will run!). The Technician said I could buy it and see if it will run after they have my money. I'm sorry, but I am unemployed and trying to get on disability; I don't have the $40 to spend to see if something will work or not. That is a months worth of gas for my truck.

So Avast has left me with the choice to try a keygen to try out their product illegally to see if it works, or not make the sale and try a competitor's product. One that may be at least able to tell me that their product should work. I just find it funny that any point system used in this product is called karma, because I am sure it will come back to them when sales keep walking away because they tell people to go to a competitor.

Do not buy Griimefrighter, it is a scam and does not work and they never reply to your emails or messages sent over the website. And if you read most posts on hear they a very slow to give you a refund.  You might as well throw your money away then buy this load of junk

GrimeFighter free scan is available in all Avast antivirus solutions, Free Antivirus including. To run the free scan just open your Avast interface, go to ‘SCAN‘ and select ‘Scan for performance issues‘.

With Intel CPU they mean Intel or compatible like the AMD cpu's.

The so called "tech support" is from a third party (as has been explained many times).
And there are a huge amount of complains about them.
My advise: Don't waste your time/money on them.

morag,
GrimeFighter is not a scam at all.
Sure it can be improved and avast is already working hard on it.

avast sure is replying to support tickets but,
(as has been told many times) if you submit multiple tickets or change a existing one you will be put back to the bottom of the stack.
It is a FIFO system.

No, I still build my own systems and I have an Intel P7 Quad Processor CPU, with an Intel Motherboard and Chipset. All sold to me by Intel as an package deal for Intel resellers. I also have 8Gb RAM onboard 6Tb Hard drive, Intel SDD Drive, all SATA 3, In a multiple boot configuration Defaulting to Windows 7 64-Bit, but also to Mandrake, Suse SLES Linux, and a Windows 8.1 Sandbox. I can also run about any system with VMware Workstation. Windows 7 is the only system with true access to the system, all the other OSs are sandboxed and get wiped and reloaded on boot. Also have an Intel Quad Server that boots to both Windows Window's Server 2012 or Suse' SLES products

And I was laughing because no one seems to be able to tell me if my system is compatible and can run on Grimefighter's Stand Alone product. I've been told to buy it and find out. I have done it before and got left holding the bag with software that didn't work, or was too "clunky" to be a viable option. I was simply looking for the Configuration version of the Stand Alone product that All the Review of the Product have said are used for the initial setup and first time cleaning. I don't care if it doesn't even really make the corrections (I would like it if it did so I know if it really does what is says it does) I just want to know if the damn thing works.

There is only one way to find out if something is working or not.
Try it and find out yourself.

If you are a reseller, you should know that SATA 3 does not excist (and neither does SATA 2).

Yes they are Technically 1.5, 3.0, and 6.0 GB SATA Interfaces. All my devices are rated at 6.0 GB Level. But to avoid confusion between MB manufacturers and drive manufacturers with regard to users with the terminology of the technology breakdown, Western Digital, Seagate, heck even SanDisk also refer to them as SATA 1,2, and 3.

And I will not buy a product that has this many compatibility problems, demands that they get their money first and takes weeks to issue a refund. I don't care if they have fanboys that answer their forums for them. I will back-up wipe and reload before I put anything on the system that I don't know has a better chance than 50/50 of working. I guess it is time for me to go back and see what Symantech or Trend Micro is doing these days.
