Do avast have some "anti buffer overflow" ?

Most of AV says that thay have some kind of
"anti buffer overflow" that stops some viuse. Do avast have it too?
And also "host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS)"

No,there is no such thing in avast!. Would be nice to have it though (like McAfee VSE 8.0i)...
