Yesterday after updating the avast program (not virus update) and to my surprise after restart of my pc, my browsing went dead. i was shocked and surprised what happened. as at that time i did not though about avast update.

i unplug my lan cable connection n reconnect it, restarted my router, when only looking for answer on what happened.
i wasted around an hour on this. luckly i remember i have update my avast program.

so i closed avast for 10 min to check if that is the problem and what do you know it was and my browsing worked again in all browser. my downloading through utorrent was working with avast turn on but not the  browsing).
I turn the avast back online and again same thing utorrent working, but browsing on all browser (chrome, firefox and IE) are dead again. so i started to look what was causing it, finally i found out that;

Under Active Protection , the web shield was the cause of this issue. i turn web shield off only, the browsing then worked, and when i turn it back on, same issue again.
i tried to manually turn one thing off in "main setting in web shield", but could not get browsing to work. So i have turn the webshield off completely, until avast can fix the issue.

so check what is causing this, have an update right away, and have a lite version too as these avast version is heavy on my system.

are you using a firewall with outbound protection? .... if so, try delete all avast rules in firewall, reboot and create new when firewall ask

i am using windows firewall only. even when the firewall is off, the issue is still the same, until i close web shield off
otherwise i am not using any other kind of software firewall

Pondus ;
none did not helped. same issue.

Eddy:
windows 7 pro
avast program 2015.10.2.2218
virus  150423-0

this happened only after i upgrade to this new version, never before. but avast have made my windows 7 with 3 gb ram, 500gb hdd, dell optiplex GX620 slow. whenever i turn avast off it is faster than when it is on.
if u have and old version i rather install that now.

I suggest you perform a clean installation of the latest avast version and see if things have been solved/improved.
Upgrading can cause issues.

nope i used windows own uninstall program.
i will try this as well.. but i am not hoping much, as the issue is not with avast but with Webshield. that is blocking my browsing.
and how to get the dianostic logs from?
