Win2000 | Server | aswServ.exe |
« on: October 17, 2005, 10:41:19 AM »
Am running a Win2000 Server .. as a web server + SQL + Avast Server Anti-virus

Yesterday installed ibackup from www.ibackup.com in order to do online remote backups of the server.

But after 17 hours it is still chugging away transferring files .. the first time is expected to be a long time because all files are new  ...  but not this long ....  the machine is in a datahosting center on a very fast line.

Using Task Manager it seems that aswServ is taking up 99% of the process power and the uploading has slowed right down.

Looking at some earlier forum posts it seems like this might not be a new problem ... but I've not seen any solutions.

Any suggestions about what I could do?

Help !

Thanks

Chris

Do you run avast with default settings? Or have you customized the on-access scanner in any way?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

Just downloaded and installed Avast Server .. in fact I'm only running the basic protection.

I'm not using the server for mail in any way.

I've put some screen shots of my configuration at

If there are any others that would help then let me know.

OK, from the screenshots I see that the Standard Shield is set to High sensitivity. Does moving the slider to Normal sensitivity make any difference?

Thanks

OPS ... just set it to normal and the transfer has speeded up .. noticeably ... and from the look of things ... that was the problem.

Will get back to you if it reappears

I do appreciate your prompt replies ....
