Hey Guy's!!!

Well i did the unistall (using the unstall tool on the site) & re-install did all the updates, ect...

The problem still seems to remain... I've terminated the Internet Mail provider just to test if changes anything, but sofar i still get the timeout!

Like oxnardprof said, my problems also started with in the past week, before that i could send & recieve like mad, about 4day's before the trouble started i downloaded 16MB worth of mail with out a single hitch, then sometime last week i started struggling to recieve mail firts, i could send as big as i wanted but recieving was a bitch, now both is a bitch... i'm biggining to wonder if it's not my provider, but all my friends have the same provider & they don't have a day's trouble...

Now this might be a stupid Q: If i use outlook do i need to set up the SMTP settings in Avast cause for the past year i have used it with out trouble with out the smtp setting...

Edit: I'm going to DLoad the new beta version & try it out...

I have had the same problem, in the last several days, sending attached files. I run on a dsl connection, and could not send two files, half a megabyte in size. So far, I have followed the advice and cancelled the scan of outgoing attachments - and I will wait to see if the uninstall / reinstall works. I just thought it would be of some value to report the same problem on another system.

I run Windows XP, using a dsl connection (1500 / 128), and I have been sending attachments before the last week or two with no problem. I can't really pinpoint when this problem developed.
You should first try extending the timeout delay as disabling (permenantly) the outbound scan could leave you sending infected emails should your system ever become part of a bot network.

What would be helpfull is what email client you use and have you done any security updates recently?
What sort of size are the attachments, is it for a specific type of attached file (.exe, etc.), does it happen for all attachments regardless of size?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I am using Outlook.  The size of the attached files were: jpg (~500kb on one message) and a combination of doc (small) and pdf (1 Mb) in another message.  Disabling outbound scan solved the problem.

Recent security update (in last several weeks) was upgrade of ZoneAlarm free edition to the latest version.  Could ZoneAlarm cause a conflict with outgoing messages?

I can try extending the timeout, but I have a hard time believing that the upload should take that long - and neither should Avast's scan of the attached documents.

Sure, the scanning of that files could prevent (in some systems) the correct working, but it could be corrected, I mean, we should be able to find what's wrong...

I would say no... but ashMaiSv.exe is allowed to connect? Can you receive mail (scanned by avast) without problem?

I think it would probably be better on a different new topic, it is not really related as secure email add a different complexity (a little more specialised) to the equation and may cause confusion or difficulty following the original topic.
