Clean Uninstall?
« on: May 03, 2015, 01:55:15 PM »
Whats the ideal way to clean uninstall Avast.........I tried using the utility Avast clear in safe mode, but when re installed had bugs.

Than uninstalled using Revo and re installed it the free edition.

I check all 3 shields, software upadater and English language. But at time if the lap shuts down due to low battery, on restart in normal mode see a Avast error on screen for a few secs only before it goes to boot W7.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
OS: W7 Pro 32bit.

Protection:  Avast 12.3 Free, MBAM.

First off, after you uninstalled your previous antivirus via add/remove you should use it's uninstall utility and run it on windows safe mode. After that install avast. After installation it will do a quick start up scan and after that manual reboot of the computer and register.

Is your computer installed with the latest service pack and are all the updates via Microsoft Update installed? What firewall are you using?
What type of bugs and what is the error that avast is showing?
What was your previous antivirus program?

About the low battery? Is your battery very old or brand new? If very old, you should replace and buy a new battery. After that and before you use your laptop, let your new battery fully charge first and then use your laptop?

I too use Revo uninstaller and I had never ever encountered any issue(s) with Avast since using it for a very long time starting with Avast 7

1. Uninstalled using Avast clear utility.

2. It did a quick scan.

3. Yes latest Service packs, updates. Windows firewall.

4. Battery is new, didnt realize it was giving low warning.

5. Avast always.

What are the bugs? What are the error message(s)? When it comes up again screenshot it and post it here.

Revo may be a good program but it is not the preferred method for removing your Anti Virus program.
Each AV has their own removal tool. You'll find listings to these removal tools in my signature: "How to Successfully installing Avast".
