Password Problem is driving me mad
« on: May 06, 2015, 12:50:37 PM »
Online I can sign into my account and look around etc.  but if I try to go into my settings on the Avast that is downloaded to my computer, it asks for a password and starts a countdown, no matter how many times I put my password in, its just says incorrect password.  Its driving me crazy!  I cant even remove Avast from my computer because it does the same thing and because it wont accept my bloody password it wont let me remove it.
I dont understand that if I can get onto my Avast online using my password it works, but if I try to do anything that needs a password on my computer I'm totally stuck.
I tried downloading some software that I need for my photography business earlier and it came up with Add an exclusion.... and when I click that it asks for my password and thats end of the downloading because it wont accept it.

Can anyone help because this is causing me major issues and Avast are taking forever to reply to help.

Thanks

Dee

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.
