Blocking Plugins
« on: May 06, 2015, 09:53:06 PM »
I am running v2015.10.2.2218 on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit. My browser is Firefox. I was trying to update LastPass from lastpass.com and https-everywhere from eff.org. I was getting a connection failure error. I tried a couple of things; deleting plugin and installing fresh and creating new FF profile. Neither worked.

I then read an article on eff.org that said that Avast was the culprit. I then disabled the shields temporarily and tried downloading again. It Worked. Btw, addons.mozilla.org worked with the shields enabled, the versions were older. The other sites had the latest versions. I assume the blocking was due to unknown source. lastpass.com and eff.org are trusted sites.

It would be nice for Avast to have popped up a notification so users would know what the problem was and what program was blocking it. Just a suggestion for a feature in the next version update. Thanks.
