AAVM Subsystem detected a RPC error
« on: October 25, 2005, 06:12:10 PM »
We recently had to obtain a new registration key as AVast was starting to expire.   My daughter didn't take care of it through her email and Avast expired.  My wife reapplied for Avast or reregistered and somehow got confused and downloaded AVG too.  I uninstalled AVG.  Got the new registration key from her for Avast and completed the process.  And now Avast won't open, but it's there.  Can anyone help me?

It is probably worth using a registry checker to see if there are any registry entries left behind after uninstalling AVG.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

AVG lefts tons of Registry keys behind, lots of Legacy keys :P
Some of them you can only remove manually, one by one...  :'(
