Avast Free Business - IS UPDATING CHROME?
« on: May 11, 2015, 06:01:02 PM »
Hi to all, i've started using the free version for Business, and it seems to have updated Google Chrome without my permission.

For compatibility issues with a Java program that require specific JRE (Java Runtime Enviroment), i've restricted the autoupdate feature from Google Chrome beacuse the newer version makes it incompatible, but since installing Avast, Chrome has gone to the last version although is configured to not do so...

(The autoupdate is disabled in Policy Group and Windows Registry)

Do anyone knows if this is the case or i have to look somewhere else?

You can re-enable Java in Chrome by using the GP 'EnabledPlugins'

http://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#EnabledPlugins

Hope this helps,
Sean

Are you sure you're using Business Cloud version?  Or posted to the right forum?  I'm not aware that Business cloud client installs Chrome or anything else for that matter, however I believe the Free/Pro/Premier does have an optional Chrome install bundled that you can deselect by doing a custom install of Avast.

At any rate, you should be able to uninstall chrome and install your preferred version.
