Will avast's webshield cause errorless timeouts?

from time to time when browsing in firefox, when clicking a link or a bookmark, the tab will say "connecting" for a moment only to abruptly stop and leave me on the page I was already on, as if my browser 'forgot' what it was doing or to take me there.

I've taken it up with Mozillas support forums, but it's very hard to test what's causing since it happens totally at random, sometimes several times in a row, sometimes it'll go hours without doing it. One mod suggested Avast's url scanning might be to blame, but I'm a little hesitant to just brows for hours without my webshield on to test it

Do you have any screenshots or examples of the sites were this behavior occurs
We'll also need to know your OS, the version of Avast you're using and any other security related
programs running on your system.

it's hard to get a screenshot because like I said, the tab just says 'connecting', and then stops what its doing, the page doesn't refresh or change or anything. Using windows 7, avast pro 2015.10.2.2218, no other security programs actively running (other than windows defender I think? not sure what that's doing). I've already ruled out my firewall or any plugins
It seems to occurs most youtube, 4chan, and in google searches

it seems to happen totally at random though, not any more on specific addresses than others. Sometimes it'll happen just clicking refresh or in an empty tab clicking a link in my toolbar

Does the same thing happen in other browsers as well Chrome, Opera or IE

Haven't tested those yet, but I do think it's an issue with firefox. So far though I haven't been able to find a single instance of anyone having  a similar problem, it's pretty frustrating, lol
