I just mentioned that I never ever had any problems with connection timeouts, and as I already mentioned to darth.mikey, a friend of mine who is my neighbour by the way, also uses Azureus with avast! installed, and he also never ever had any of those connection timeouts. Some people reported those problems, but I really have no clue why is that happening on their end while using Azureus.
The timeouts are caused when azureus uses the smtp port for something other than sending email. The ashMaiSv.exe is expecting smtp protocol and doesn't get it and a timeout occurs. There have been at lease two occurances of this (that I have responded to) in these forums about timeout errors and the timeout relates to azureus using port 25 to connect.

The update has now been officially released. The relase version is 4.6.731.
To update your BETA to this version, simply invoke the program update from within the avast GUI. This will revert you to the release version update stream.

Thanks to anyone who helped to test this product.

I'm still on 4.6.691.  Just got a message that a newer version is available -- click here to install.

Is this the correct way to update?  Or should I download the newer version... uninstall the older version and THEN install 4.6.731?

Thanks.  Just want to be sure.

Yes it is, especially if you have the Auto Updates set to either 'Ask when to update' or 'Automatic' it is what we like about avast! ;D

Thanks guys.

I updated by 'right-clicking' on the blue ball, then 'update program'.  It seemed to work just fine.  I almost canceled out though because I thought I saw a module being downloaded with the 'pro' reference.  I allowed it to finish and I'm now on 4.6.731.

But I do notice that my license key is now blank.  Is this normal? Do I need to re-register?

Thanx. Rick F.

Where are you looking at the license/Registration key?

If you go to the point of looking as if you were going to input the license/registration key (e.g. click the License Key... button) then it will be blank to allow for the input of the key.

If you simply look at the about avast, Registration Key: you will see a partial key displayed.

See image, so you shouldn't need to re-register.

Thanks David. I see now that I don't have to do anything as my registration is still valid.  I was looking where I would enter a reg key like you suspected. That's where I saw the blank.

Thanks again. :)
