Our website is being blocked - false positive?
« on: June 12, 2017, 11:07:55 PM »
Hi, our website minecraftjams.com is currently being blocked and categorized by Avast as malicious URL. Would you mind re-checking it and remove it from the malicious URL category, please? We've checked with TotalVirus and it is clean (https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/fe2f53693158fa6888baabf5891868a828f088bd8fe91f734f3f8117de4ab6bd/analysis/1497300156/). We also did the SSL Server Test with Qualys SSL Labs and is graded A.
Appreciate your help!

Clean is a bit misleading term as VT does not scan websites for infections, it check websites against a number of blacklists

IP history   https://www.virustotal.com/en/ip-address/198.185.159.144/information/
Multiple domains on same IP and many are blacklisted

Good reasons to keep that IP blocked.
https://www.virustotal.com/en/ip-address/198.185.159.144/information/

And running a SSL/TLS test on a non SSL/TLS site is of no use.

n4ft,
why don't you let the admin handle it ?

Thank you Pondus and Eddy for the quick respond. I didn't think of checking into the IP. The IP mentioned belongs to SquareSpace which currently hosts our website and many other people's websites as well (personal, businesses and many online stores). I wonder what Avast's policy would be when it comes to this.

avast can unblock the site, but I strongly advise to get away from that IP.
Get dedicated hosting to avoid being blacklisted if you have bad neighbors.

Thank you Eddy. We're definitely going to do that. Do you have suggestion of any dedicated hosting with reputable IP? And meanwhile, what's the procedure to have the site unblocked?
