« on: March 04, 2015, 07:02:42 PM »
I am not sure where to post this, but I want to cancel my free trial of Avast Pro Antivirus and get my $19.99 back. Can someone tell me how I can accomplish this?   Thank you.

It is a free trial, just remove it after the trial period is over.

Why asking money back for something that is free ?

It's a free trial but I had to charge it on my credit card to get the free trial.  Now I want my $19.99 back.

The trials are all completely free.
You will never be charged to download, install and test them.

If you paid, it means you bought a license.
If you are still within the 30 day period, you can ask for a refund by submitting a ticket.

Not entirely correct Eddy.

There is a means to trial the AIS, etc. for 60 days and to do this you have to complete a payment process. At the end of the 60 days you would then be billed on this payment instruction.

Unfortunately that is about all I know about this - how to subsequently end the trial and uninstall or revert to the free version and not be billed is something I don't have any information on. Short of submitting a support ticket as you mentioned.

:P :-\ :-X :'( :( >:( 8) :o Cant cancel my free triAL anywhere.  I keep emailing them or creating a ticket i should say but no answer from them.  My, isn't that disgusting service ha.  Sooo just to let ya all know who struggle with this cancel your card.  I have put a temporary block on my card so that they can't take money out. haha lol no doubt i'm sure i will certainly hear from them.

That'll be great because then i can tell them to cancel my auto renewal and then un-block my card.  Honestly, terrible service

emailing will not work as things about billing are handled through the ticket system.
The ticket system is FiFo based, meaning each time you send a new ticket you will be put back to the bottom of the stack.

You can cancel the auto-renewal yourself.

Depending how busy it is (or if there are holidays, lot of ill people and such) avast handles tickets within 1-5 business days.

22llanik,
We replied to your ticket yesterday morning. Also, the auto renewal for your trial has been cancelled since Wednesday 23.

Hello Dragan,

https://support.avast.com/en-ca/contact/sales_refund/sales_refund_general

Select Email, and use the order ID 0000000000. Explain your problem, and the email you used for the purchase request. They should be able to cancel for you.
