Newbie: A Few Questions...

First off, kudos for the excellent response time for all the questions you get asked! Now it's time for a few more as I wrap my head around this new suite (I've been using Symantec for several years)...

1. Do I have to schedule Avast (on the SBS Server) to download updates and virus files, or does the program always check to make sure it's using the latest data?

If I do, how?

2. Do I have to schedule the client machines to update, or do they auto-update when/if the main server gets and update?

If I do, how?

3. If the client machines are covered via "real-time" protection, but I want to go ahead and schedule a forced scan every so often, how do I go about doing that?

1. The virus definition updates are downloaded automatically. You don't have to schedule anything.

2. Same as 1., no need to schedule anything.

3. Create a scanning task (on-demand scanning task) in the Console (assigning it to the machines you'd like to run it on), and then create a schedule for it in the Scheduler folder (all in the Console).

Thanks
