What happened to Online Security Plugin Popups?

Are the icons gone now?  Here's what I do:

In Firefox, look for Avast's green 'a' (it looks like a swirl) in the top right of the bar, and click it.  This will bring onto the screen a ratings box.

At the bottom is a box labeled 'Settings' - click it.

... 06/12/15 but today, I would like to see that I have these - I check these, and see neither the green icon, nor annoying balloon
