[FREE] Antivirus deletes files marked as do not delete!?
« on: June 14, 2015, 09:19:22 AM »

Just downloaded and installed AVAST FREE. Nr one of free antivirus...

Performed a scan. Detected some problems in some files.

One of file attired my attention cause it detected viruses in my project test application (a simple Windows Forms VB.NET compiled project - a Windows Form with a button and a Infragistics GUI Grid component for test purposes, more innofensive I don't know)...

Strage, I said. Marked for this file as "DO NOTHIG".
Performed "automatic action" for the rest of files(click on the apply green button).

Read bellow than automatic fist Repairs, if not moves to "Chest" (? WTH is that?), if not deletes.

OK, I said, let's try to repare my file... selected repair. Onbained message that impossible to repair. OK, I selected "Move to Chest"... Apply, Still Error"impossible to repair"... I then opened the parent firectory but surprise!

The file was deleted!

Why the world's number one antivirus deletes files if I explicitly specified to repair first or move to Chest?

If it still impossible to do it, LET THE FILES ALONE and DO NOT DELETE IT!

Your Captcha verification is unreadable for humans!!

Moving to chest is not deleting the file.
It (as it says) MOVES the file.
So yes if you look in the folder the file was, you will not see it there anymore.
