I noticed that under Features, it list's Firewall which is obviously incorrect.
Maybe that's referring to Web Shield which is a firewall like behavior but certainly not a firewall.

I hope that reviving a 6-yr-old thread won't throw all the internets [sic] into a vortex of critical surreality, but I've a question that relates directly to this thread, and I thought it best to continue with it.

In the last +1 yr that I've been working with AVAST's Marketing/PR team, I've noticed several times the changing content of our Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avast!

So I'm curious if these changes are primarily made by avast! Forum Evangelists or if they're just other users out there in Cyberland. I'd like to coordinate with whomever is mostly responsible, in part to ensure that the most current (&/or best available) data gets put there.

If it's someone here on the forum, please contact me via email.

Oh, and THANKS for anything/everything you've done for the page thus far.

There is no restriction as to who can make edits to the Wikipedia page/s, so it could almost be anyone.

Perhaps it good if this page had an RSS feed which would alert you to changed content.

Thanks, folks. I'm hesitant to make direct changes myself, as an employee, as such has caused controversy for other companies in the past. However, I suppose I can bypass any potential grey areas by using solid sources and by not writing anything like 'marketing text'.

Yes, as for more of an AVAST history slant, I totally agree. I notice that on the Wiki page the year 1988 is in question, but I'm not sure why, as our biggest historical highlights (including 1988) are all documented on avast.com.

I welcome feedback on this (which is why I came here to the Forum first)... I think the following would be good on the Wiki page: 1) history (http://www.avast.com/history & http://www.avast.com/release-history); 2) awards/certifications (http://www.avast.com/awards-certifications), which I'm in the process of bringing more current; and maybe 3) AVAST Foundation (http://www.avast.com/foundation & http://www.avast.com/foundation-projects). These aspects are indisputable and easily sourced.

Also, for more credibility, we have a good list of 3rd-party press coverage (http://www.avast.com/written-about-us).

Any further thoughts on this?

BTW, my Rubik's Cube... you could say I prefer complexity sans complication - it's sort of my life's philosophy.
