How to use Avast SecureLine VPN on Mac OSX
« on: June 22, 2015, 05:58:59 PM »
I got a popup offering me a 7-day free trial of SecureLine VPN on my MacBook running OSX 10.10.3. I installed it, and I see it in System Preferences Network. However, if I go to a website which displays my IP, I still see my IP. How do I use SecureLine VPN to preserve my privacy on Mac OSX? I'm running free Avast which seems to be the only option available for Mac OSX. I have a premier license on my Windows laptop, but I no longer use that.

Your can't hide your IP, it will always be visible.
Secureline encrypts the data your browsers sends.

You will always have an IP address "visible", but when connected using SecureLine
it should definitely be a different address, than when not using the VPN.

How do I use SecureLine VPN to preserve my privacy on Mac OSX?

You have to open the SecureLine application (window) and click on the "Connect" button.
