Outlook Problem since Version 4.6.691

Since update to the new version 4.6.691 the outlook starts very slow and for viewing mails it takes a long time for scanning.

In the systray bar there is a new bar visible for few seconds (take a look on picture)

Does anyone have the save problem???

How big are the attached files?

In the systray bar there is a new bar visible for few seconds (take a look on picture)
This is not a problem. You've set so into Internet Mail providers settings (icon in system tray while scanning).

The problem exists with or without a attachment. But its only since i installed the new version

I' m using Windows XP Professional with SP2 and Sygate Firewall. Additional Office 2003 Professional

Has something changed in Outlook Scanner since the last update?

Mathias, sorry I didn't notice that the icon has nothing to do with mail scanner icon...

This is not a problem. You've set so into Internet Mail providers settings (icon in system tray while scanning).

If you disable the Internet Mail provider, will the Outlook plugin work?
If you uninstall just it, will the plugin work?

I have disabled the internet mail scanner and the outlook plugin still works. But the problem already exists.
I have reinstall AVAST but thats was not a solution.

I do not understand what you mean. The screenshot on the top means that if the outlook plug in scans a mail (with or without an attachment) an icon is showing in the systray and an new bar were created (red box).

1. And where is avast! icon of the mail scanner? The 'a' is the resident, the 'i' is VRDB, where is the mail scanner icon?
2. Which new bar is this? Which application start it or create it?

Do you think 1 and 2 are normal? I don't think so  ::)

1. The icon is visible for a second and after scanning it disappears. So I can not make a screenshot from it.
2. I don't know what for a new bar it is. All I know is that this bar appears when I want to read a mail in outlook.
If I disable the outlook plug-in then I can read a mail without interruption.

Am I the only one this problem have?

Just guessing... Did you use in the past any other antivirus? Which one?
Do you have any backup (second, non-resident) virus scanner in your computer?

Can you check which plugins are available into MS Outlook:

Outlook 2003 > Help > About > Disabled items
Outlook 2000 > Tools menu > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Add-In Manager.

Yes, I used G-Data Antivirus

I have only A-Squared Personal on my Computer. I have disabled it for a test but the problem already exist.

You don't know G-Data Antivirus? Huhh, its a erman product. One of the better I guess. There are two different scan engines and a easy managment. Unfortunately the updates are about 4.5MB  ???
