Unable to subscribe to root AES

When I try to subscribe by name  I get "the requested address is not valid  in its context" "unable to subscribe to given "XXXXXXX" root server" error.

When I try to subscribe by IP address I get "Unknown error" "unable to subscribe to given "XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" root server" error.

Anyone have any ideas? Does anyone know where to look to trouble shoot?
