I serach for an actual thread messsage
« on: June 17, 2015, 04:12:52 PM »
Hello,

I serach for an actual thread messsage. During sending an email with photo attachments I got a voice message like "thread detected ...". The text related window right down gave additional information, but it disappeared fast.
Virus chest shows no event.
Where can I find infos related to this message?

The picture I sent are clean: my own ones ...

have you rebooted computer?
if not, right click avast tray icon and select  show last popup   there is a pin in top right corner of poup that you can click and pin it to screen
you can also change popup time in avast settings

right click avast tray icon and select  show last popup

Oh - nice function. Didn't know of that. The reason was an incoming email at the time I was sending. They told me that I forgot to pay an invoice from a company I don't know ;-)

Thank you.

Fake Mail?  was there a zip attachment?

download and save it, dont open it ... then upload and scan it at  www.metascan-online.com    you may post link to scan result here

if detected, delete attachment and mail ... if not detected and you dont know the sender, delete also

I don't know - the attachment was deleted by Avast. The emails title shows a virus warning.

There are still questions.

The Avast-report says "Infection:Win32:Malware-Gen" - I remember this name from previous messages. Is this an unspecific generic name for some kind of virus, not specific for this malware?

Why reacts Avast so different - sometimes malware is transferred to virus chest, this time it's deleted directly. What's the difference?
It would be easier to reproduce if all suspicious data is transferred to one place.

Hello,

I must repeat my question above:

It depends on the settings you have set for each shield and what is detected.
