Threat Detected in Quick Scan
« on: June 30, 2015, 02:37:46 PM »
The last two quick scans will complete and it shows on the main screen "Threat Detected", but the report file shows I have no threats. Will attach screenshot of main screen for viewing and will paste info from report file. What could cause this to show a threat when there is none? I see there is another post in the forum from March that has the same issue regarding this problem, but would an uninstall and clean install actually fix this problem? The poster states to do this, but it doesn't state whether this fixed the problem or not. I have Avast version 2015.10.2.2218

First try repair of avast via add/remove and follow the instructions. After repair has been done, restart your computer manually. Then do another full system scan. If it doesn't solve it, do a clean installation of avast. After installation, avast will do a quick start up scan, upon completion do a manual reboot.

Hope it will help!

You say to do a full system scan, but this is happening on a scheduled quick scan. Do you still want me to do the full system scan per your instructions?

Sorry my apologies! Instead of doing a full system scan do a scheduled quick scan.

Staticguy...thanks for that most useful help. It did the trick with the repair, restart and quick scan!! Let's hope it stays that way.
