OK that is a help as McAfee is known for messing up net connections

Download the McAfee removal tool from here http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp to you desktop
Run the tool and reboot

Then download the webroot version from here http://download.webroot.com/WRUpgradeTool.exe
Run the tool and reboot

Let me know if that makes any change

I used the two removals and still have the problem of no access. The only time I have access to website is when the Avast web shield is shut down.

Do you get any error at all ?

OK this will do a full clean install of Avast, reset the networks and hopefully clear the problem

Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

  • Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
  • Once complete reboot your system
----------

THEN

Run this FRST fix

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Quote
CreateRestorePoint:
CMD: netsh advfirewall reset
CMD: netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state ON
CMD: ipconfig /flushdns
CMD: netsh winsock reset catalog
CMD: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
CMD: ipconfig /release
CMD: ipconfig /renew
CMD: netsh int ipv4 reset
CMD: netsh int ipv6 reset
EmptyTemp:
CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

FINALLY

Re-install Avast and test

Ahh you mean safe mode...  If you run Avast uninstall utility it will offer to go to safe mode for you accept that
