detected phone dialer as virus

I am using an HTC Desire 610. I have a pay as you go mobile account. When I dialed my refill number, Avast said my phone (dialer) was malicious. I ignored the pop-up from Avast and finished my call, but I couldn't hang up without completely shutting off my phone. I added my phone dialer to the ignore list. Should I worry? Is this a bug or false positive?

I'm having a similar problem with my HTC One M8. When attempting to dial, message is telling me that phone dialler is malicious. Gives me option to uninstall or 'allow for 15 minutes'. Any help appreciated.

I am getting the same virus notification. Just started today. A brief google search indicated several others receiving this either late yesterday or today. Is this a real threat? I use my phone for everything so this is a very scary threat. Android:evo-gen [susp]
