No, since the program usually reminds you and has a button to click on to renew it. Just something else to keep an eye on.

Why is this new version so aggressive? I would like to know why is this version scanning HTTPS links even when the setting was set NOT to scan them? Its not respecting its own settings.

  • StreamFilter with HTTPS scanning  is now available also for Windows XP/Vista

It's not Secure DNS? I have Windows XP, and in Avast - Settings - Active Protection  Secure DNS not situated here ???

Hi,

sorry but SecureDNS is not available on WindowsXP

I have something funny in my Avast FREE. Can someone from Avast confirm that if this is the norm now or if it is a test ?

I do not have a registration date and my license is valid until the year 2023. I have read that Avast is trying to get rid of the yearly registration in thr free version but nothing has been said officialy though.

Any body else seeing this in his Avast FREE.

BTW I installed R3 2223 cleanly and did not ask to be register.

Hi.

this is ok. In some cases we test to drop the registrations. The fact that you don't see the date is because you are registered forever ;-) Nothing to worry about. It might change in the time but we will always notify you in advance in case the program needs registration again.

Thank you MartinZ. Now I can pass that information if someone else asks.

Many problems in my dutch Vista after online update to AVAST 2015 R3 (2015.10.3.2223)
All my browsers cannot reach internet anymore (not found message or hang).
After disabling Avast everything looks normal.
Same problem after repair.
By the way repair changed the Avast language from Dutch to Englisch (should not be done, I think)

Everything Ok after going back to 2015 R2.

Are there other Vista users with same problems ?

Are there no Vista systems using Avast R3 or do they not have this problems.

Team, can I get also some advise what to do now with this Vista system.
Do not tell me to go to Windows 7 or 8.

God damn, you weren't kidding
5 minutes of browsing on tumblr, an it's already scanned 20,000 web objects. it usually takes me a whole day to scan that many web objects with normal browsing.

my main concern is that the sheer number of things it's scanning now is gonna start slowing things down. Like I said it normally takes me a whole day to accumulate 20,000 scanned objects and this new version burned through that in like 5 minutes, usually scanning over 300 objects per page

I installed the latest free version over the previous one on Vista Home Premium without any problems. Did the same on my wife's Windows 7 Home Premium but Smartscan resulted in Performance Issues. Clicking Resolve All results in the loading icon churning away until I select Skip as even after an hour it still shows the loading icon. Another thing the latest version did, and it has never happened with previous versions, was to delete all the restore points.
