I'm not able to use the free home edition avast virus scan feature. After I click on the avast icon, three Avast Unknown Error messages pop up one at a time. These are the error messages. First message, "Storage cannot be created for the "Splash" task." Second message, "Configuration is not loaded properly. Error: dbsCreateObject." Third message, "Program cannot save parameters to the storage. Error: dbsCreateObject." I uninstalled avast, then downloaded the entire program again, and still the above messages appear. I noticed at the bottom right hand corner of the monitor screen near the "time clock" on the task bar, the "blue avast ball with the lowercase "a" has a little red circle with a red backward slash in it. The red circle with the red dash wasn't there before. The interesting thing is that when I connected to the internet, I still received the "Avast database has been updated" message and announcement, but I still cannot do any scanning. The computer I'm using is a PC, running on ME. As I've said earlier, I uninstalled and reinstalled Avast free home edition already, but the three messages are still appearing. What is the solution so I can once again, use avast to scan my local drive? Thank you for your expertise. Megaman
