Meraki MDM issues
« on: October 18, 2014, 01:48:47 AM »
the latest Avast update appears to have the bad idea of stopping the 993 SSL communications that enables me to monitor and remote desktop my Meraki MDM Windows client machines.

Anyone else having this problem? If so, how have you fixed it? (besides disabling SSL scanning in the Mail Scanner)

Are you referring to disabling SSL scanning in the Mail Shield? We're running the Avast Small Office Administration and can't find that setting from the administration dashboard. I can find it on each individual client, but I'd really hate to have to go to each workstation and uncheck that box.

Disabling a feature is not a fix. Is there a proper way to make an exclusion?   I found a fix:

I was able to see my devices in Meraki MDM by adding a URL exclusion for meraki.com
Also the work around by disabling Scan SSL Connections for Mail Shield is not needed when adding the URL exclusion.

have you looked in avast FAQ section?
