Using Smart View software with Samsung Smart TV
« on: July 29, 2015, 09:57:01 PM »
Simple request. How to enable me access between windows PC and new Samsung TV, using Smart View 2.0 software. As far as we can see Avast Firewall is preventing access either way. It is really annoying and I want the easy answer! I have wired network through a new Virgin router.

Getting somewhere with Avast Firewall OFF. No pictures yet, but it knows what channel, at least.
Virgin firewall may not be ideal for normal protection on its own though?

any answer to the problem?
I just got samsung smart TV and got the same problem using smart view on windows
The app cannot detect TV unless turnoff avast firewall
checking firewall log it say block UDP in (app = "system"), but I can't find the way to allow this UDP traffic
In the application rules already select "system" and allow all connection but still can not detect TV unless turn the firewall off

finally I solved the problem.

Open firewall settings / Packet rules / add new rule as shown

Edit: this is not permanent solution because the port is randomly change after reopen the smart view

so I fix the IP address to samsung TV and allow all UDP from that IP
