Windows 10 conflict
« on: July 30, 2015, 07:27:47 PM »
Hey there I been part of windows 10 for 8 months now and had avast since I got it (Was in the insider build for windows 10) and Not had 1 problem with AVAST Free Till now

Since i updated today to the new version of AVAST free Windows Defender wont disable itself. How is this a bad thing some of you might ask well here is 2 point's.
1. 2 Anti viruses running can cause conflicts and slowdowns and crashes and some other strange things to happen.
2. With having 8GB memory all of it counts and having 2 anti viruses running uses up even more memory.

Now I don't know what has happened but hope this gets fixed. Also before some of you say just disable windows defender you cant on windows 10 via settings because it will re-enable itself after some time automatically. 1 last note I hope I posted this in right place if not can a Mod move this thread to right place thank you :)

Same problem here, Windows Defender didn't disable itself after upgrading to Windows 10.

Yep restarted 3 times and nothing this is annoying because i'm a heavy gamer and I already see a slow down in performance. I know this might sound bad but its not meant to be but i'm happy i'm not the only one because I was thinking my system was acting up after 8 months of running fine lol.

If you have rebooted a few times and the problem has not resolved itself then run a repair on Avast

I did a repair install and updated to 2225 (apparently I was on 2223). Now Windows Defender is disabled.
