Avast Spotify Virus?
« on: August 05, 2015, 06:36:01 AM »
Original File Name: data_1
Original Folder: c:\users\<user>\AppData\Local\Spotify\Browser
Size of File: 794624
Last Modification: 8/5/2015  3:46:37 AM
Time of Transfer to Chest: 8/4/2015  11:15:19 AM
Category: Infected Files
Virus Description: HTML:IFrame-BTM [Trj]
File ID: 1

What I'm wondering about is that it's 11:35 PM, August 4th and the Last Modification was 3:45 AM tomorrow... Ehm... Help? Should I run a full system scan, delete Spotify, or what? I haven't had any problems with Spotify, and I've had it for quite some time.

Thanks in advance for the help.

EDIT: Not too sure how dangerous a trojan is if it said it edits itself the day after the virus was found... So uh... Yeah..?

I can post a screenshot of the Avast Virus Chest line of it if needed. It seems like a false positive but I just wanted to be sure.

So is it possible that it is because Spotify has many different types of advertisements that it shows? If so, I'll probably uninstall Spotify. Not like it means too much to me. It's the first time it's happened, and it happened when I opened up Chrome, nearly instantly.

Additionally, Avast is the ONLY anti-virus that states that it is that virus... Is it safe to assume it is a false-positive then?

So I ran MetaScan and It said 0/44 scanners found an issue.
