AVAST! 10.3.2225 (free version) and Windows 10
« on: August 01, 2015, 09:58:59 PM »
I've got a small problem with the above-mentioned version of AVAST! on Windows 10.  Since the upgrade to Win 10, my AVAST! sounds no longer work.  "Enable AVAST! sounds" and "Voiceovers" is ticked.  All "Event" sounds are ticked, yet I hear no sounds at all.  Is there anything I can do so that I can hear these sounds again?  Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot.

The only other thing I can think of is doing a clean install.
Using this http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe and accept the reboot into safe mode.
Then re-install your avast and reboot.

Backup your avast settings before doing any of this. GUI>Settings>General>scroll down to "Backup Settings".

What sounds are you missing as most have been removed

(Before I try that clean install)...  For instance, when I click a link and it warns me of that page being bad.  I use "Pirate Talk," and don't know if that has anything at all to do with it, but it used to say something like "There's a scurvy man 'o war off your starboard bow."  Now, all I get is a pop-up box and no sound.  I also used to get a "Bell" that rang three times before it stated the above.
