HELP, PLEASE!!! GrimeFighter is stuck in the "sedating" mode! It tells me that it's sedating my computer, and then goes black. I've tried the suggestions on other threads of hitting ESC immediately after turning on the power, giving me the option of choosing F2 for Setup or F12 for Boot Options, but both do nothing...still goes straight to sedating. My computer has been rendered COMPLETELY useless as there's no way to stop GrimeFighter from taking over at startup. I called phone support this evening and spoke to a VERY rude man who said the only fix was to take it to a repair shop, and that GrimeFighter isn't compatible with Windows 8.1. That may be true, but as I told him, I've run it before with no problems. He then told me that the reason I'm having the problem I'm having is because I apparently have another antivirus software other than Avast installed and running on my computer which I do NOT! He proceeded to call me a liar and that I had no idea what I was talking about. He talked over me, YELLED in the phone at me, and nearly had me in tears before he finally hung up on me. My computer is my livelihood, and I need it fixed NOW!!! And yes, I have filled out a support ticket (#BXN-859-29831), but have seen others have waited several days/weeks for a response. I don't have that option! Thank-you!

One has to ask, if GrimeFighter is incompatible with Windows 8x,
why does it get included when avast is installed?

An incredible amount of sophistication is required for the design and implementation of such a product;
one only has to glance at the GF forum postings to see that GF is not to be trusted.

Once again it's the novice users that get shafted.

Is there ANY WAY to stop the GRIMEFIGHTER from running on startup?  Cannot access Control Panel since I cannot get into my system, windows does not load.

This silly-ass program starts and goes into some kind of death mode, says it is rolling up it's sleeves preparing for battle, then NOTHING.  Screen goes black and nothing.

1 - DO NOT say to remove it via control panel - Cannot get there
2 - Program has been running for over 12 hours - how much grime can one system have
3 - Did not willingly install this program, must have been a hidden package of avast
4 - Avast WILL be removed once I get this crap off my system...

1]
Change the boot.ini file so it won't load

2]
You will be surprised if you know how much rubbish/malware there can be on a system.
I've seen systems with over 40(!) types of malware

3]
You did install it willingly.
If you didn't wanted GrimeFighter, you should have done a custom installation or removed it after installing avast.

4]
Don't blame avast for your mistakes/lack of knowledge.

GrimeFighter has been stopped around 6(!) months ago.

@KySats,
Boot into Safe Mode and restore your system to a restore point before you started Grimefighter.
Once you're back in regular mode, update Avast to the latest version.
Use the custom install and uncheck the modules you don't want:
