Avast Update
« on: August 09, 2015, 06:48:30 PM »
Good evening all,
I haven't been using Avast Free for very long and I just clicked to update the virus definitions (I thought) and seem to have updated to Pro or something because the programme keeps asking me to reboot. I don't want Pro - certainly not at this stage when I haven't had a chance to see how I get on with Avast.
Assuming I have pressed the wrong button - I haven't rebooted yet - how do I best return to Avast Free? Is it a question of de- and re-installing the programme? I'd be grateful for any information - the appropriate link would be wonderful.
Advance thanks for your time and any useful infos.
Cheers

What version number do you have installed? 2225 is the latest which might have been what was installed if it's asking for reboot.

Latest version found here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=174286.0 at the top of the main forum page ( where you posted )

Hi again,
This was a false alarm! The urgent update with a re-boot is assure compatibility for the pending Win 10 installation.
Sorry to have made such a fuss.
Cheers
