[Report] Avast Internet Security-WiFi issues on Windows 8.1
« on: August 04, 2015, 11:32:36 PM »
I've just started having constant Wi-Fi issues today with Avast! Internet Security. The Wi-Fi connection drops as soon as I close out of the Connect To A Network view. If I don't close out of the Connect To A Network view the connection goes to limited. Using the command ipconfig shows that I have a 168.xxx.x.x IP address which means my PC can't connect to the DHCP server to get an IP address. I've tried booting into safe mode w/ networking, clean boot, etc etc etc and tried ipconfig /release. The only solution that works is uninstalling the Avast software itself. I'm very disappointed with Avast, which is an extremely good antivirus.
Feel free to move this thread where it should be.

Did you just install avast? ..... or did this start after a avast update?

Right after a reboot, but no Avast update before the reboot.
