Web Protection Malware
« on: August 06, 2015, 07:30:31 AM »
Hi All,

I recently installed avast free protection on my Macbook Pro (Yosemite) and when browsing in firefox, both on google.com and vice.com I received multiple alerts of malware being blocked.  I don't think it is the websites, must be something else sending it to my computer...

Screenshot of blocked notices attached.  Any ideas what is causing this? When I scanned my computer it found one file infected in firefox, but I moved it to the chest - also attached below, it was in the Users/myname/....

Thanks for the help!!

Normally I would say disable all browser extensions, and then enable one by one until you find the culprit.

But considering that these URLs seem to be non-malicious, I think someone from Avast should verify if these are false-positives.

It's a false-positive. Should be fixed in the current VPS.
