Windows 10 Grime
« on: August 06, 2015, 09:56:37 PM »
Hello

First, I should say that I posted this already in another part of the forum, but then I learned that I posted it in the wrong thread. Here is the link to the other thread: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=174690.0

I have upgraded to windows 10 and received a notice from Avast that there was Grime on my computer. I ran the Grime Scan and let it do its work and now most of the programs on my computer no longer work.

Could somebody please help me with how to resolve this issue? This is the computer that I use for all of my clients and so opening some programs are extremely time sensitive.

Thank you very much for your help!!

Jason

P.S. I tried to upload a screenshot of two example errors, but they will not upload.

One of them says, "Te application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000034). Click OK to close the application

The second one says, "C:\Program Files (x86) \Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe server execution failed"

Thanks Asyn. I have been on that thread. Unfortunately I can not upgrade to the new version because programs are no longer opening. I can not open Avast. I also have attempted to re download programs in order to reinstall them, but I can not even open the newly downloaded install file.
This appears to be a pretty big issue.

Thank you, I have submitted a ticket.

I must say, though, that I find it rather peculiar that Avast tells us which programs on our computers are out of date and need updating. Since this update came out for Avast, I have probably receive 3 or 4 notifications that various programs on my computer need to be updated - which I did. And yet, it never notified me that Avast needed to be updated? That is a bit odd.
