Lotus Domino Server
« on: October 01, 2005, 04:11:56 AM »
It is my understanding that Alwil will release Avast!4 for Lotus Domino Server in October.

Will it be bundled in a Suite?

If I purchase Advanced or Enterprise now will I be able to use it for domino with no extra charge?

Hope to hear from somebody soon on this so I can decide on my purchase!

It will sure be in the Enterprise suite. I'm not sure about the Advanced one though (anyway, the price difference between those two is quite small).

Would you like to test-drive a pre-release version of the Lotus Domino plugin? If so, please write to Pavel Sedina sedina@avast.com with a link to this thread and he'll tell you more.

Thanks

Do you have a version for Lotus Notes running natively on an AS/400?

No, sorry; the current version is for Windows only.

Are you really running Domino on AS/400?? :)

Thanks

As a matter of fact, we're now in the process of porting the avast engine to various platforms (G4/G5, Sparc and maybe RS/6000). Do you think it would be useful to have an AS/400 version? :)

I believe so, there are companies that run Lotus Notes natively on the AS400. I would recommended purchasing the product if it was available. Right now we have to relay on an outside vendor to do all vs.

Can I ask how big is your user base?

Also, your AS/400, is it like BIG server or just the small tower? (like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-AS-400-9401-150-Complete-System-V4R5-Software_W0QQitemZ5828124701QQcategoryZ64029QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ;))

We are currently running Lotus Notes 6.53 on Model 9406-170. We are going to be moving the Lotus Notes to a Model 9406-550. We are running OS version 5.3. We currently have 250+ users on Lotus Notes.
