lost pics in Samsung Gallery
« on: August 20, 2015, 08:57:39 AM »
If I use Samsung Gallery to sync my Picasa/Google cloud account, when I run Cleanup all the pics get deleted.
If I take a look of the details of what gets "safely" deleted I can see that Samsung S3 Neo stores the synced pics in:

 /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.sec.android.gallery3d/cache/

which at present on my phone is 319 MB.

Cleanup wipes the Picasa/Google items and only keeps pics stored somewhere else.
Is this the way Cleanup is supposed to deal with gallery?
Is there a way to whitelist some apps, so that system cache is wiped while gallery stays untouched?

I do not want to move manually the files on the phone from one place to another every time I upload a group of photos from Adobe Lightroom on my pc to Google cloud (which then is synced with my phone).

Why not just use advanced settings then choose the phorto albums you want to save and Mark them ignore? Or choose do not delete after cloud upload.

thanks, I'll try.

edit:
Not sure how to do that. These files are acknowledged as belonging to a system cache.
They do not appear in multimedia files in advanced cleaning mode.
Thanks anyway.
