Hi everyone,

As many of you already noticed, our two flagship Android apps, Avast Mobile Security (AMS) and Avast Cleanup, were removed from Google Play since this past Saturday.

This is because they have been (unilaterally) suspended from the store by Google.

The official reason we have been given is that the way we distribute/recommend the apps is not compliant with Google Play's policies.
Since Saturday, we have been working diligently to get the problem resolved. We expect that the apps will return to Google Play in the next few days.

Users who already have the apps installed on their devices shouldn't experience any problems (and the virus definitions continue to be updated even during the time the app is suspended from the store, i.e. you are still protected against the latest threats).

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience.

A secure alternative (workaround): http://www.amazon.com/AVAST-Software-avast-Mobile-Security/dp/B006WQLH7G

I hope you can disclose more about Google policies and us. What did we do wrong?

Amazon seems to have version 3. A newer version can be sideloaded here: http://avast-mobile-security.en.uptodown.com/android/download

Thanks for this link, it was really easy  to use.  I struggled to load the app from Amazon.com as it didn't like me being in the UK ::)

The Opera link has been provided by one of the devs (a while ago), so it should be secure.

Thanks Asyn for your answer, but I have placed a request by Sales and asked them if they can provided me the latest APK. Because of security aspects I can't download the app from a different site then the site of de developer (Avast).

Is there any plan for making Avast AV available on GP for the Nvidia Shield Console?

Hello Avast Moderator (s):
I just saw these posts about Avast Mobile Security being removed from Google Play Store. What date was it removed and is it now back on Google Play? My Avast Mobile Security was updated last night without me realizing it. The new version has more features that address some, but not all,  concerns I have about  other Apps Permissons and about security in general (banking, being able to control permissions for individual App, a firewall, etc.). I would not want to keep using it unless it's back on Google Play.
