Windows 10 blocking Avast firewall

The title says it all. Since installing windows 10 i've been unable to use avast's firewall. Even turning off window's firewall does not help. I've done a clean re-install of avast premier and still no dice. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

avast firewall problems are ususally solved with 1 or 2 reboots after install

On Win10 you repair like this    Right click on the start button > select Program and Features > select Avast > select repair
