Exclusions
« on: August 12, 2015, 11:41:01 PM »
I am currently using AIS 2015 the latest release and I fail to understand when I exclude a folder that I do not want scanned, it scans it anyway. I am wondering if it is following the rules I set for the Firewall. This is just plain nuts.

What exactly did you put into the list of exclusions? (and which list of exclusions?)
Plus, are you sure the files are actually scanned? In on-demand scans, for example, the excluded files may be shown in the progress - but it's just the enumeration, the files are not really scanned (as seen in the detailed report file, when enabled).

A Folder. The exclusion was in Active protection File system Shield.

That would only exclude it in the on-access file system shield not for any on-demand related scan/s. For global exclusion it is in the avastUI > Settings > General - scroll down and expand the Exclusions section and enter the File path.

Crucially you didn't include the exclusion text, as Igor suggested, then it can be checked for validity.

Also note if a file that has been legitimately excluded from scanning actually is a process that interacts with other files outside of that folder then those files wouldn't be excluded.

The text is not relevant to this problem. Thanks I will look there.

I can't see how the exclusion text isn't relevant if it is wrong it won't work, your system your choice.
