You know ..... It's one thing when I'm using a free version of something, but after I pay ... The super intrusive "service" of having the software push your other products on me, interrupting my workflow to nag continuously about options I've declined many times before ... Should be turned OFF by default. That is totally just Internet 101 and good netiquette. Please fix this!!

I turned off browser cleanup and after update it ran itself not just first time but again after restart, and I checked both times it is off in tools. 

I think that's it for me, I'm going to try another AV on my testing computer and if it is good, will switch. but willing to try avast again once they get back to a light weight anti-virus status without all the nagging and bloatware

I did remove the plugin from chrome before, unless they reinstalled it again after avast update, if so this is horrible.   beside even in that case, if in tools is off, why doesn't avast disable it??

The Browser CleanUP is different to the avast browser security plugin. Totally different so disabling one won't effect the other.

By far the easiest/best thing is to remove components that you don't need or use from the Control Panel > add remove programs/programs and features > avast antivirus > Change and uncheck the options you don't require/want from the Tools section.
