avast problem
« on: August 15, 2015, 01:59:21 PM »
Hi guys! I have some problems with my Avast. I've downloaded Avast Free 2015.10.3.2225 and the setup went well, but then it says that I'm not protected. If I click Start now or Resolve all, nothing happens. I also tried with bitdefender  kaspersky,to see where is the problem, and the same thing happens, service stopped can't enable  .....i run surface scan it says windows resource protection found corrupt files was unable to fix..

Sounds like it may be malware blocking the system

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Select  additions at the bottom
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please attach both logs generated.

OK several different problems are apparent here so we will take them in baby steps

First run chkdsk from properties of drive http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6221-chkdsk-check-drive-errors-windows-8-a.html
you want to fix all errors found

THEN

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Quote

Is there any indicator as to why the service does not start ?

Download Windows All In One Repair from  Tweaking.com to your desktop
Install the programme

Reboot to safe mode with networking
Run Windows All In One
Select Step 2
Select open Pre-repairs scan then click scan
Let that complete
Save the results to a text file on your desktop

Next select Step 5 and back up the registry

Open the Repairs tab

Select the following repair numbers :

1,2,3,4,5,10, 21, 26, 27

Set the system to reboot on completion
The press Start Repairs

OK now run a fresh FRST and I will uninstall Avast for you (unless it is now working)
